Cinema The Pulse becomes a cultural hotspot in Amsterdam’s Zuidas

In addition to offices and residential spaces, The Pulse of Amsterdam now features a new cinema. Cinema The Pulse offers 800 seats across nine screens. It will host unique Cinema-On-Demand experiences in the three smaller theaters, while the six larger theaters will showcase the latest film releases, making the cinema a versatile destination for every movie lover.

A creative meeting place at the heart of The Pulse
Cinema The Pulse is more than just a cinema. It is an initiative by a group of Amsterdam-based film entrepreneurs operating under the Cinebeat banner. Among them are prominent names such as Peter van Vogelpoel (Sweetwater Pictures), Marc Smit (Cinéart Film Distribution Benelux), Matthijs van Heijningen and Guurtje Buddenberg (Sigma Pictures), and Julia van de Graaff (LYNX Film). According to Van Vogelpoel, Cinema The Pulse will become a “cultural and social hub for film enthusiasts, residents, and business users,” making a significant contribution to Amsterdam’s cultural life.

An iconic building with space for relaxation and culture
The Pulse of Amsterdam, where the cinema is located, is an innovative and sustainable building consisting of a residential tower, an office tower, and a green plinth connecting the two. On the ninth floor, 35 meters above ground, there is an urban forest of approximately 600 m²—a unique place to relax amidst the hustle and bustle of the Zuidas.

In addition to the cinema, The Pulse of Amsterdam offers a wide range of amenities, including dining options, retail space, and office space. Cinema The Pulse is supported by Triodos Bank, with assistance from the European Investment Fund, due to the project’s unique combination of culture and sustainability. The construction of The Pulse began in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2024.
