Cinema The Pulse: Your Home Theater
Cinema with 9 Screens in The Pulse Building
The Zuidas is about to welcome a new hotspot: Cinema The Pulse. The founders – Cinéart and three film industry professionals, film producer Peter van Vogelpoel, actress/film producer Julia van de Graaff, and producer Matthijs van Heijningen – share a single mission: to provide a place where film lovers can truly immerse themselves in the cinematic experience. We spoke with founder and film producer Peter van Vogelpoel.

The Pulse of Amsterdam is a building in the Zuidas area with offices, residences, and more. Why do you believe a cinema belongs here as well?
“We wanted to create a place where film lovers truly feel at home and can experience films as they were meant to be seen. The Zuidas is a dynamic and lively area and a cinema adds an extra dimension to it. The idea is to enrich the cultural offerings of the Zuidas and provide a new meeting spot for residents and visitors.”

What kind of cinema will Cinema The Pulse be?
“Cinema The Pulse is unique because we aim to screen both mainstream films like James Bond as well as arthouse films with a more artistic character. This way, we can reach a broad audience and offer something for every taste. With six large auditoriums and three smaller cinema-on-demand rooms, we’re able to showcase a diverse selection of films that reflects the range of the film world.”
What makes Cinema The Pulse so special?
“Cinema The Pulse is not just a cinema; it’s a complete experience. We’ve partnered with Café Restaurant De Ysbreeker to offer a high-quality food and beverage experience. Whether before or after a film, guests can enjoy a quick snack, a full dinner or even a morning coffee. In addition, our cinema-on-demand rooms provide a unique option for private screenings. Book a small room with friends or family, choose your own film, order drinks right from your seat and adjust the sound to your preference. It really makes it your own private movie night.”
With Cinema The Pulse, residents get a cinema in their building. What kind of neighbors can they expect?
“For the residents of The Pulse, this is a major luxury: they have the opportunity to go to a cinema in their own building. We’re still working on exclusive benefits and promotions for residents, so they’ll be the first to know about special events or premieres. It’s really going to be an enhancement to their living experience and a place where they can fully enjoy themselves. We can’t wait to meet our neighbors and welcome them to Cinema The Pulse!”
